PCM employs precise analyses which use a ready part to make a highly accurate estimation of the production tooling costs. While pricing e.g., injection molds, PCM analyzes a part and automatically detects the part size, thickness of faces, number and size of ribs, spaces for the slide, inserts etc.
When the analysis is done, the data are transferred to the pricing environment. In this environment you can determine the production region, currency, mold multiplicity, injection runner types etc. You can also determine the percentage share of the tooling maintenance costs (servicing). Based on the above information, PCM computes and generates the material list which specifies times required to complete each operation (boring time, milling time, time spent to prepare each part etc.).
PCM provides the user with several dozen diagrams illustrating the percentage share of each operation. Therefore it is possible to determine very quickly whether it is better to outsource the parts or make them in-house.
In the final stage, PCM generates a summary of costs which is very useful while negotiating with the client. If you have an accurate view of the costs, you can optimize them very quickly. Since any selected parameter of the pricing, e.g., country where the tool is going to be made, can be changed, it is possible to make a competitive offer in a very clear way.
