Designing of progressive stamping dies is a very complex process, both in terms of the product complexity (stamping die, punching die) and the production of its components. NX Progressive Die Design is a rich set of tools used to automate the process of loading the part geometry, unfolding it and laying it on tape and then to design the stamping die.

Trouble-Free Work with Data from other CAD systems
Thanks to the available synchronous modeling technology, NX Progressive allows to very quickly implement changes in the model to improve the producibility of the sheet metal part. The imported model can be quickly changed and repaired without any problem. Additionally, it contains a bend recognition system which eliminates the need to remodel the part.
Non-linear Unfolding Analysis
NX Progressive provides the user with a number of possibilities to unfold faces with beads and non-linear bends. While performing the analysis, it shows useful information defining the level of deformation, material thickness, stresses, profile before the stamping operation etc.
Rich Database of Standardized Parts
The NX Progressive suite contains a number of libraries of standardized parts from such worldwide manufacturers as MISUMI, DAYTON, FUTABA, FIBRO, STRACK etc. The open structure allows the implemented libraries to be freely added and edited.
Automation of Flat Drawings
NX Progressive allows to significantly accelerate work on flat drawings (documentation). It creates automatic lists of parts, controls drawing properties, provides overall sizes of models, automatically creates projections and cross-sections, automatically adds dimensions etc.
NX Progressive can be installed on the Windows or Linux and Mac OS system.
NX Progressive CAPABILITIES
NX Progressive enables you to use a proven progressive stamping die design method which reflects the tooling designer's actual approach. It ensures that the work is done in an orderly and repeatable way for every tool. Its high efficiency allows you to shorten the time necessary to design by half, compared to traditional methods.
NX Progressive allows you to unfold faces with linear bends and non-linear bends, too. In case of linear bends, NX Progressive selects the neutral coefficient and does the target unfolding. On the other hand, when handling non-linear bends, it enables you to perform an analysis which can give you the profile before the bending operation. Advanced surface commands make it possible to make intermediary (preliminary) bends.
Strip Layout Development
The great power of NX Progressive is its capability to quickly generate the strip layout. The designer can freely change the orientation of the model while immediately getting information about the material consumed. The cutting out simulation allows you to clearly generate a 3D strip layout which reflects the actual appearance during the cutting out (punching) operation. When the strip layout is generated, NX calculates the force required by the tool to be able to work correctly.
Inserting Parts into a Strip Layout
NX Progressive allows you to quickly insert panels and divide them into segments. Based on the height of panels, NX inserts punches and dies while automatically selecting their size and positioning them with regard to bands. The automatically generated elements also include holes which are generated with adequate shapes enabling the waste to be taken away.
The NX Progressive suite contains tools allowing to generate pockets to avoid a collision while the strip layout is raised and lowered. Pockets are generated based on the size without the need to draw sketches.
Library of Standardized Parts
The great power of NX Progressive is its wide range of libraries of standardized parts. The base includes parametric models which, when inserted, allow for generating pockets and holes in panels. The advantage of the parametric models is that they automatically generate the part catalog number and always maintain a consistent position with regard to the holes. Apart from single parts, NX Progressive contains parametric sets of bodies and sliding elements (CAM).
NX Progressive enables simplified concurrent work of several designers on one project. The work consists in assigning parts to a selected designer. The designer may only save the files which have been assigned to him/her.
Fast Pricing (Quoting)
NX Progressive has built-in tools for simplified tool price calculation. Since the tool size has been defined and surfaces imitating punch contours have been made, NX calculates the size of the model and uses material data to determine the cost. All pricing data are transferred to an Excel spreadsheet.
